Introduction
The adage “Humans are the weak link of the chain” has been used to assign blame of a cyber attack to human weakness. Cyber security moves so fast that employees in charge of designing, developing, and administering systems are not aware of the techniques used, and flaws exploited by malicious actors.
By empowering existing computing professions to develop cyber security skills, it is possible to increase cyber resilience within a company.
Our trainers have worked with application developers and cloud architects working for the NHS with the explicit goal of improving security by increasing the understanding of how attacks occur.
During this project, the fundamental steps taken by attackers were discussed and conducted in a lab environment allowing these professionals to step into the role of a hacker and identify avenues of attack. This increased knowledge and understanding was then able to be applied to their day to day role to increase security.
